Gruss Gott Rudy!

Try www.deutscheslied.com, or www.volksliederarchiv.de

I suspect that you'll love the first one! Herr Schendel is very helpful.

Well, after a long hiatus, I've set aside 15-30 minutes every early morning** to "practice ". Hopefully this will continue. Hey you kids....the opportunity to practice is a LUXURY!!!!

"Vogerl..." may be good choice for the student to ease into a couple of minor bass accompaniments. Man, an A or E contra at the appropriate time in this classic is haunting. This would be a good piece for an addendum to "leichte stuckl". *** Is this piece still protected?

Is this traditional piece still protected by German copyright laws? After searching, the versions I've found are for accordion, not zither. Would a zither arrangement be "protected"?

My mother and I frequently sang Vogerl fliagst in d'Welt hinaus while washing dishes after the evening meal....when I was 10 years old. I'll be 85 y in a few days. Does that classify this treasure as "folk" musik?

When one searches for arrangements of this melody, it virtually always comes up as "Volksmusik fur Akkordion" not zither. Meh!

I'm workin' on it

Hey Rudy!

I was just looking around for some info on this song of yours and came across this on YouTube, auf dem Klavier! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNzb5_NJVO4

Clue in the description...
Aus dem Buch: Die bekanntesten Wiener Lieder.
Klange aus Wien.
Band 1

Huzzah! So good news, it exists as Piano music, bad news, I was not able to find that exact book, BUT I do see some books on notenbuch.de that include the song - https://www.notenbuch.de/Wien-nur-du-al ... 59785.html

I'll keep looking for leads and clues, but at least Piano music should be straightforward-ish to adapt to the Zither

Hope all is well by you

Thanks Andy,

I've worked out an arrangement, although challenging, seems quite workable. A real workout for the right hand.
