Johann Jobst Zithers
Anyone else here own a Johann Jobst? If so, could you post a photo of the front and back? It would be interesting for comparison purposes. Also, a shot of the mechanic that shows the serial number. I'll start with my Jobst (serial number 1332) and personal favorite. The back is beautifully done in birdseye maple.

That is one of the nicest older zithers I've ever seen. I especially appreciate the slight flaring of the bass and accompaniment strings. They are usually further apart at the bridge. This looks to approximate more the feel of a more modern instrument. It certainly has been cleaned up and restored to its former glory. Kudos!!!

He travelled extensively as a zither player and later established himself as a maker of zithers. He invented the Luftresonanz Zither, which characteristically has an additional soundhole (usually to the left of the bridge), thus differentiating it from the Konzertzither which has only one (centrally placed) soundhole.
