For those, like me, that prefer to play zither standing up- and who can't always find a nice baby grand piano to play atop (I find them at the local community colleges & university music rooms)...

If you close the hinged top and put the instrument on it, the space between makes for nice amplification. The problem is, then it is 4" too high, so I bought a half apple box to stand on/to compensate. Or, you can unscrew the hinged cover and that makes it 3" shorter, which is doable (or you could always cut the legs 4 inches). It seems pretty stable even for those who like lots of vibrato. And it beats the $700 ones I see on ebay.de.

similar in height and dimensions to the home-made fish cleaning table we use at Carl Schurz Park....no back aches.
