Christmas Music

Hey all,

I’ve plugged a few more songs from my Great Grandfathers crumbling book of Christmas tunes into MuseScore, converted them from treble clef to bass clef and wanted to share them with you all. Attached are PDFs for “Alle Jahre wieder”, “Weihnachtsspruch” and “Der Christbaum”. I’ll post more in this thread as I get them converted.

Enjoy!

Hi Andy - that's a great thing you're doing, and your great-grandfather would be very happy and proud.

One tiny suggestion: change the "Mäßtig" to "Mäßig". Mäßig = moderately; in some parts of the German-speaking world, Mäßtig = "overfed".

Bravo - and Merry Christmas to you.
Tom M.

Thank you very much, Andy! I am looking forward to more, in due time, and if it's not too much trouble, I'd be particularly interested in "Weihnachten. Fantasie" (preferably in treble clef).

Best wishes
Evelyn

Tom,
That is very kind of you to say, and thank you for pointing out the typo. I’ve corrected it and re-uploaded the PDFs.

Evelyn,
Unfortunately it looks like “Weihnachten. Fantasie” is missing from the book. It should have been score #30, which would have been the back over. I’ll reach out to my Grandmother to see if it slipped in with some other papers. In the meantime though, I uploaded versions of the previous songs in Treble clef.

Some more from last night, here are “Du lieber, heil’ger, frommer Christ”, “Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen” and “Weihnachtsfreude” in Bass and Treble clef.

Thank you, Andy, you are very kind but don't worry, please. You've already uploaded a good selection, which is greatly appreciated.

Here are “Christnacht”, “Heiligste Nacht”, and “Einladung”. The accompaniment measure 17 of “Einladung” looks like it needs a third hand to play, but that’s how it appears in the book.

Hi Andy - There are several "Weihnachten Fantasie". Do you know the composer of the one you're missing?

The smaller notes are for less proficient players, ie the easier version, if this is what you are referring to.
