Johann Hornsteiner Passau Zither

Do you have information regarding zither supplies, such as rings, strings, tables and sheet music? Are you looking for a reliable zither, or have one to sell?

Johann Hornsteiner Passau Zither

Post by isarian »

Hello to all,

Beside a nice Schwarzer zither I'm also looking for a Johann Hornsteiner zither from Passau. This lesser known Johann Hornsteiner should not be confused with the more renowned Hornsteiners from Mittenwald.

Grüss di Sepp,

Here's a Hornsteiner I've had since the 1970's, purchased new in by Wolfgang Mader of Milwaukee, originally of Passau, on a visit home.

Hi Rudi,
I'm sure that's a pretty nice and probably good sounding zither. But for nostalgic reasons I'm looking for an older Johann Hornsteinern (from the first or second Johann) model around 1900 or earlier. But don't think I'm ignorant. I know that the later models like yours are more advanced and sound better.
