new strings

Do you have information regarding zither supplies, such as rings, strings, tables and sheet music? Are you looking for a reliable zither, or have one to sell?

new strings

Post by kenbloom »

Hi all,

Does anyone know if Anne Prinz is still selling strings. I have e-mailed her but have not gotten a reply yet. I need a set of Bergfe Green bass and accompaniment strings and some new phosphor bronze fingerboard strings. Suggestions?

Hi Ken,

Anne is running her primary consulting business full time plus, the strings are really a service to our(her) community. She may be away from her base for extended times, sooooo, hang in there.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the info. I did get in touch with Bill Kolb so I'm trying out the Lenzner strings and see how they do. I did need them in a hurry and they are in the mail as we speak! Thanks again.

Ken, may I ask how you are getting on with the Lenzner strings? I've only ever used one (in an emergency) and would be interested to learn what others think of them in comparison with Optima/Bergfee and Pyramid.

Hi Evelyn,

Thanks for the question. I haven't found a lot of difference between the two. I do find that the platic windings on a few of the Bergfe higher strings lasts longer than the standard windings that you have on the Lenzners. I got a set of each (Lenzner and BergFe) so now I have spares between the two. I think both brands do veryw ell. I have the Lenzner fingerboard strings on at the moment and they are fine. I do prefer the solid phophor bronze D string and both brands use the same wire. All in all, I think the two are pretty comparable.
