There will be a Zither Sunday on December 2, 2018, with lunch and discussion starting at about 12:00, at the home of Kurt and Megan Eckroth in Wales (Delafield) Wisconsin. Discussion will probably include amplification of acoustic instruments.

The playlist will include not only Christmas music, but also Viennese selections from the Milwaukee Zither Club Alpenklänge library. The latter will be for "sight readings" and potential use in 2019.

lunch will include ham, semmel knödl with mushroom gravy, and salad.

Sounds like a grand time to me. I wish it wasn't so far so that I could attend. Have a wonderful time!

After reviewing some of the older pieces, Kurt has re-strung his accompaniment to start with ab rather than eb.

To keep the numbering consistent, does this become the "0" string?

When I first started, knowing nothing and having only the Darr book, I broke a lot of strings trying to get that first one up to Ab until I realized it said Eb on the package!!! What a dummy! Even if you play in Eb and Ab a lot, starting with Eb really makes more sense. Everything is just a bit closer. You can reorganize your fingers for those two remote keys ala Hintermeyer if you really need to do this.
