It does float. There is a narrow opening between the block and the sound board. If you blow air into the sound hole everything will come out the luftresonanz hole.

Re: Greensleeves on zither
Hey Chris, There is an arrangement by Heinz Nachbaur jun. in Psalteria's Spielheft 6 Band B that sounds really nice. It's actually one of my favorite books. Here is a link to where you can find it on Stretta Music. https://www.stretta-music.com/en/heinz-spielheft-6-band-b-nr-616792.html Happy Thanks...

Re: Christmas 2020
I was just thinking it's about time to break out the Christmas sheet music and see what is reachable this year. Have a few weeks to learn something new.

Re: Practice Video - Danza Morena
Thanks Tom, Fingering is definitely starting to feel more natural, I find that as my confidence has grown, I am putting less pressure on the frets. Rudi, You are far too kind. I have a long road ahead before mastering anything. Every time I look ahead at some of my great grandfathers music books, I ...

Practice Video - Danza Morena
Hello Everyone! Hope you're all holding up well. Really wish I could say that the end of all this nonsense is in sight, but at least here in Texas, things are not going in the right direction. All the more reason to shelter in place and practice, practice, practice. Here is a song I had been working...

Re: Question about Trills
Thanks all, this is a big help. I hadn't realized that little symbol was going to be quite so complex. Another thing to learn and practice.

Question about Trills
Hey all, I’ve recently started practicing a new piece of music out of one of Walters old books and came across a trill. IMG_1801.jpeg In Kabateks book, he explains how to play Trills as… The “Trill” is the swift, equal repetition of a principal note and the note that lies above it, in the regular su...

Re: Christmas Music
Here are “Zu Bethlehem geboren” and “Zum Heilen auserkoren”. That finishes up this old tattering book. Hopefully with some sleuthing I’ll be able to find the lost song, Weihnachten, Fantafie” online somewhere and call the book done, but I think thats enough Christmas music for now.

Re: Practice Video - Basket of Turf
Back in the 70's Rudi Wacek gave me a stand that is exactly like this. I don't know where he got but it certainly is a clever and compact design! Now thats cool. Walter Schumacher lived in Chicago for a while when he was younger. Wonder if he got the plans from someone there. Tom, no, not the posit...
