About three years ago, Freddy Golden experimented with tuning the outer a string up to e. But he didn't find strings that would resist the high tension required to achieve an e with the usual fretboard string lengths of some 435 mm. So he added a kapodaster to effectively shorten the string lengths ...

In looking it up on www.fortenotation.com, I found that it is for *Windows* only - just to clarify. From my side, I have been happy for the last several years with MuseScore https://musescore.org/ which is cross-platform (Windows, MacOS and Unix) and FREE (opensource). It does have a learning curve,...

Note that Gutmann numbered the fingers opposite to the current scheme: In his book, ring finger = 1, middle = 2, index = 3, thumb = x (page 11). This may be confusing.
