We just watched The Godfather again; it stands the test of time. Such an excellent film, and film score.
Does anyone have/has anyone translated the theme song to zither? I think it would do well on our instrument, don't you?

Re: Kerschensteiners in Bavaria
The trip to Markneukirchen was a great success. Ulrike Meinel was so gracious and a kind host to us. Steffen Meinel at Wünsche was super friendly and gave us a nice tour of his factory. He let me try out a number of his models including the ultra-big Wilfried Scharf concert version. While staying ne...

Kerschensteiners in Bavaria
I'm traveling to Bavaria next month and am considering stopping to visit a zither builder named Reinhard Hermann who makes, I believe, Kerschensteiner-type zithers http://www.kerschensteiner-zitherbau.de/geschichte.htm. Does anyone know his work and whether it would be worth the side-trip? There see...

Repetitive motion or extended motion
I've been suffering from pain in the right hand ring finger for a few months now. My feeling is that it came from stretching my right hand ring finger too many times when I should have been using the fifth finger (laziness-to-avoid-the-transition?' '); but it was certainly aggravated by subsequent w...

A Clean Zither/ A Happy Zither
The best part of the laborious process of changing all the strings is being able to clean/condition the wood, and make it shiny again. Does anyone have a particular product to recommend? I've been using a Gibson spray made for guitars, but perhaps there's something better out there.

Re: Exercises - Mastering the Scales and Arpeggios
I downloaded this book many months ago, fiddled through it briefly, and forgot it. Then this last week I got serious about studying it; found it extremely helpful and pretty entertaining. Great way to get my fingers exercised properly each time I sit down to play, to break down chord patterns and se...

Gearing
Does anyone know where (in Germany, I presume) to send zither gears for repair? One of the knobs on my new/old Arian zither broke off and I haven't found anyone in LA to repair it. It cannot be soldered back on by the break. It would probably be easier just to have them match the whole gearing with ...

Amplification
My wife bought me an AKG Pro Audio C411/PP Vibration Pickup for Stringed Instruments, and a small portable amp as an anniversary present. Unfortunately, the pickup requires power and the little amp doesn't have phantom power or input for the 3pronged pick up jack. What type of amps do other zitheris...
