Re: Playing in Public

Bravo Andy! When I first started performing in public (professional cellist, back in the day ...) I was so nervous. Felt like everyone in the audience would be a better cellist than I was. But in most cases, the audience is really there because (1) they want you to succeed, and (2) they admire what ...

Re: need music..

gerne geschehen!

We're in a winter drought here in southern New England. Only about seven inches snow so far, around 10 inches below average, and temps in the 50s.

But with electric rates now 40¢/kwh, and heating oil at $4.50/gallon - we're not complaining about the weather!

Re: Practice Video - Danza Morena

Bravo Andy! Hands and fingers look at ease, and to me the zither sound is richer than in earlier videos.

Now if we could get more people out of the bars and off the beaches, maybe to stay inside and enjoy zither music!

Re: Question about Trills

Hi Andy - that Kabatek text is about the most confusing thing I've ever read. The interpretation of the "tr" varies across instruments, time periods, composers, and styles. Not a science, but an art. Sometimes a trill begins with the note *above* the written note: sometimes with the note t...

Re: Practice Video - Basket of Turf

Hi Andy - when you say "new position", do you mean the position shown in the Basket of Turf video?

Thanks.

Re: Practice Video - Basket of Turf

On a slightly different tack, here's the adjustable music rack I made a few years ago.
