Re: Right hand positions

Kings Keyes say table height of 27". I have put some 2" planks under my table feet . It is a lot easier for me to play. The Zither is closer to me and It now feels more a part of me. It is all personal preference but I am an experimenter and will not rule things out till I have tried them....

Re: Right hand positions

Sorry to keep appearing again and again but Tom, I have been thinking about you and your right hand problems. What I have to say here is only a suggestion that may make your right hand ( and left ) easier to play with therefore easier to hit the notes. In a nut shell...Are you still standing up to p...

Re: Host for videos?

Brilliant Tom! Sometimes I feel so stupid.. It never crossed my mind that I could do that. I am one of those that the obvious is just NOT obvious to ME ! Thanks. I hope you found my advice helpful. After i posted that ,I went to my Zither and did the right hand only as I suggested and also NO PEEPIN...

Host for videos?

Do you know of any other hosts for holding videos other than you tube. So far I have used you tube but truthfully, I do not want to broadcast myself globally on things like learning the zither. I prefer in the future to keep this private and sent them to you guys to approve or otherwise and to famil...

Re: Right hand positions

Heres my take on it. I think if we look at all Zither players, they will all have the same general right hand approach but all will vary slightly. I think this has to do with feeling comfortable with their hand positioning. Some play the bass string with both 4th and 5th fingers. Some use just one. ...

Re: Progress Video - Volkstümliche Zitherschule p24

The Volkstümliche Zither Schule is being reprinted. I have a brand new copy from NOTENBUCH.DE in Germany. It is well reprinted with good thick pages and the soft cover is also thick and well made. Re Stad Stad. I find certain pieces that are supposed to be more challenging and later on in certain tu...

Re: Listening recommendations?

If Cornelia Mayer use Vienese tuning ...I do not know but she plays beautifully. I came across this one! I keep listening to it again and again.....and again! So I guess I like it. Her Rythmn is perfect and she gives it a nice bouncey sound with short staccato on the Boom CHINK CHINKS, Love this one...

Rudi.
I have a spare rectangular key if you would like it.
It is well made with what looks like a rosewood handle.

Re: Are these Zithers any good?

Dono. I paid £100 for it including post from ebay. All pins are there, the machines are all working and the fret board is attached. In order to repair this, it would have to have the top completely removed and also the bridge. The top ia badly warped and would take many hours of work with jigs to re...
