Before drilling holes in the instrument, you might want to consider mounting the note stand on the table, as described elsewhere on this site.
Does the instrument mounted stand affect acoustics?

Re: Looking for input/advice on Karl Kiendl zither
This makes me sad,
A Kiendl zither will bring joy to its household for a long time, probably a century or more, if properly maintained. Has this waif has a hard life?
Please see my "Unkel Gorge" entries on this site, Meh .

Re: NEED NOTES
Is this traditional piece still protected by German copyright laws? After searching, the versions I've found are for accordion, not zither. Would a zither arrangement be "protected"?

Re: Needing help with restoration of our zither
Sorry for the late reply. Start by finding a local (if possible, player, (Buffalo? Wilkes Barre? NY city? or?) a person with zither experience. Local Bavarian Trachten groups will be a starting point; The Gauverband Nord Amerika web site might be useful. I have told this anecdote several times on th...

Re: Humidifiers
WOW WHAT SYSTEM. Up here in Wisconsin, I fight to keep the relative humidity in our home up to 30%, even with a power humidifier ("April Aire ") on our hot air furnace. If I attempted to get to 50%, the Wisconsin DNR would wonder why the water level of Lake Michigan had dropped! My system ...
