Re: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Playing for the local GASA school Xmas party next week. O Tannenbaum sing-a-long and of course Stille Nacht..And then as many Bavarian songs I can play while people mingle about, before I get too tired. It's fun to show the instrument to the little kids. And, oh! I've been practicing at the local co...

Re: Microphone: stand or mount

I use the AKG pickup (https://www.amazon.com/AKG-High-Performance-Miniature-Condenser-Vibration/dp/B006V7Q6RM/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=AKG+pickup&qid=1570943163&sr=8-2) which has a sticky substance to attach to my wooden standing desk (I prefer standing when I play, and there isn't always a grand...

Re: Newbie; The Journey Begins!

Great looking instrument. You can always contact Anne Prinz for strings and accessories. As for a music book, let me recommend King Keyes' Scales and Arpeggios as a good guide to proper technique. It is downloadable http://www.zither.us/files/keyes_scales_arpeggios.pdf And if you're ever in Southern...

Re: Denver

I'm liking this music score.org free download, Joseph. It makes transcribing music so much clearer and easier- once you get the hang of it; thanks!
For those of you who have hand-written sheet music and want to make it more legible/ or for composing your own music to zither- this is a great tool.

Sorry, no; but I'd really like to try "As Time Goes By" if anyone has music for that.

and my Schwartzer Perfecta has a piano bottom as well.

Those are really impressive zithers you've created John. What a wonderful talent to have.

Re: Oh, was that bad!

On Anne's suggestion from Tomy I bought an AKG mike C411 from Amazon. I found it works best instead of sticking it on the zither, to have it stick on the table near the instrument. It's attached to a phantom that descrambles it and that attaches to a Cube amp. The Cube and phantom have the option of...
