Re: Christmas Music
Evelyn, Unfortunately it looks like “Weihnachten. Fantasie” is missing from the book. It should have been score #30, which would have been the back over. I’ll reach out to my Grandmother to see if it slipped in with some other papers. In the meantime though, I uploaded versions of the previous song...

Re: Christmas Music
Thank you very much, Andy! I am looking forward to more, in due time, and if it's not too much trouble, I'd be particularly interested in "Weihnachten. Fantasie" (preferably in treble clef).
Best wishes
Evelyn

Der Nikolaus kommt (Santa Claus is coming)
Hello All With Christmas only a month away I thought I would share with you an arrangement by my late zither teacher, Georg Widl. The two traditional Christmas carols incorporated are "Leise rieselt der Schnee" and "Es wird scho glei dumper". More information here: https://www.ge...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!
Thank you, Tom, for the link to a thread I had so far missed. I wholeheartedly agree with Dave, who wrote: “Keep practicing!” is sound advice! I’ve heard of folks trying to learn who pick up the instrument for a day or two, put it down for a few weeks, and revisit it. How can any meaningful progress...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!
You know, with over 100 members here, you'd think that there would be more than a handful of members willing to help the beginners! Hmmmm ... I'll hazard a guess and say that maybe most members are not all that interested, and that's presumably the reason for why they do not regularly check what is...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!
Hi Rita Thank you very much for the video of Tomy Temerson, which I've watched with fascination and greatly enjoyed. He certainly can play and he knows what he is talking about. Re instructions - over time I've come across a few 'how to play the zither' videos available online. Not impressed by the ...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!
Hi Tom Nice cyber-speaking with you again. Regarding your questions - I saw my zither teacher once a week for 50 minutes. Between two lessons, I practised the homework my zither teacher had given me, which commonly was an exercise or a tune, to be played with more confidence and fluency than when fi...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!
... where did you hear you should practice one hour a day? Fingertips would be raw and bloody if you do that! My zither lessons always lasted about 50 minutes. Most of these 50 minutes were spent playing. I never had raw and bloody fingers. Yes, blisters do develop when starting, and they do hurt, ...
