I just bought a concert zither.
I hope it’s a good one, restored. Looks like new
Zither Schöne Konzertzither Lindberg Munich
What you see here is an old, but good concert zither from Lindberg Munich in fantastic condition.
Manufactured by Lindberg Munich
32 strings
usual signs of use
strings are relaxed for shipping, instrument needs to be tuned.
The zither comes:
with case
tuning key
zither rings
Dimensions of the zither :
Length 56.5 cm
Width over the sound hole 30 cm
Height 3.0 cm (with distance pieces 4.5 cm)
I’d post a picture, but it does seem to want me to copy it. All it’ll do is let me post a link.

Re: Zither search
I’ll try again to post pics of my zither. I still haven’t found any information on the builder, yet, nothing but the label in the would hole

Re: Zither search
What a gem! From the photos, this has been someone's life treasure. Gunter, you are fortunate.
The instrument looks great. The joinery on the table in one of the photos, however, bespeaks craftsmanship; wow. The latches and handles on some of these old cases may need to be addressed.
...and now the fun begins. Carefully tune the strings you need for the lesson you are working on (zither tuner phone "apps" and tuning u-tubes are out there) and as we Wisconsin Badgers say... "keep 'er movin'".
Christmas is coming; set a goal! Try to get Silent Night, done well, on just the griff, even without bass, and if you can add a few bass notes, even better.

Re: Zither search
Thanks Rudy.
I started re-gluing some of the lining and working on the latches, today.
I think I got a good start on it.
I hope to start tuning and learning notes, tomorrow.
Also plan to learn “Silent Night” as you suggested.
Thanks, Again.
