Let's get this party started...

„MZZG = Monthly Zither Zoom Grouplesson"
… this is the place, where you can learn a new fun trad. German tune each month!
Join me and bring your Zither on 5/29th at 8pm (Germany), 7pm UK, 2pm EST, 1pm CST, 11am PST

This event is all about repertoire. You will learn techniques and skills along the way, but the primary goal of each class is to give you some new music to play. You’ll learn a bit about the history and origins of the music. Sheet music will be sent in advance via E-Mail. After the MZZG you will receive an audio file for further study. If my kids are willing, I will also be able to record a video of each tune

This class is geared toward intermediate players, but all levels are welcome. Music reading and Munich tuning required. The ability to play a few chords will be helpful.

20$ for 45-60 minutes MZZG including sheet music and audio file.

I would be thrilled if you join me in this musical adventure. I am Carmen Amrein, university trained Zither teacher from Munich, Germany, with over 15 years teaching experience in Germany and around the world. During my work and travel year 2011/12 I taught Zither around the pacific US coast and toured with my Hackbrett (German type of Hammered Dulcimer) in Canada and the United States.

This is great !!!....but being an old timer.....

first I'll establish a Zoom account, then

make sure I am familiar with Zoom before the lessons start (We Americans have all probably watched the recent AT&T commercial X 10^6 with Zoom meeting problems. btw, fiber IS coming to our neighborhood!).

But, old dog. new tricks....better than crossword puzzles...

Usually, freshmen and/or those new to a school have an "orientation session". Will there be a "pre-lesson" orientation, or some other group or individual test, to make sure we're all on the same page, not having computer issues when the real classes start?

Payment?? do you accept Paypal ( Old Dog needs to re-activate his old account) or "überweisung" from an EU account?

July/August in Wisconsin is busier (crazier?) than February/March in Mainz. Can we take a break and then re-join come autumn?

good questions!

I haven't thought about a pre orientation Zoom meeting. Maybe I'll just do it 15 minutes before the actual MZZG start. Do you think this will work for you?

Basically the biggest ZOOM problems I know of is the original sound and hitting a wrong Zoom link ;o)

I do accept Paypal and Überweisung. I know from a canadian student, that the Überweisung fees are super high, so Paypal is okay.

Please ask any question! I am happy to answer them, as long as you give me time. Having 2 little children, I am not on my laptop 24/7
