The stainless steel "a" strings on my griffbrett are sounding a little harsh. Has anyone any suggestions? alternate material?

Hi Rudi,

I know that my instruments are sensitive to the relative humidity. When the air is dry, my instruments do sound "harsh", by which I mean there is excess treble to the tone. As the humity goes up, I find that both Meinels sound richer. This could be the source of your problem. If it is, then the solution is to wait.

Thanks Ken,

I keep two moist wash cloths hanging over the corners of my table, re-wetting then 2-3 time a day. meh. Summer is coming; we're about 2-3 miles inland from Lake Michigan. More comments in June....
