Franz Schwarzer offered perfecta zithers in several styles. This particular model, Style A, has two resonance holes on the top and no pillar. This zither, serial number 9754, dates to 1910 and was recently donated to the Washington Historical Society in Washington, Missouri, compliments of Rudolf Mueller.

the adornment on the perfecta "a" contrasts to the lack of inlay on another schwarzer serial #10883 (could possibly be 10863) which i have nick-named "boomer". photo attached.

That style A is SO beautiful! Curious how it would sound.
Mine is a ‘27 combo of Grand Concert and Perfekta made as a special order, I believe. Janet Stessl was the 2nd owner. Big sound!, but the design leads to warping from all that tension at the Contra strings. The column snapped once and Sasha Radicic did an amazing job reproducing the original design.
