Third Man Mueeum

Post by Rudy Mueller »

The April/May 2018 issue of German Life, (p 16 ff, Zeitgeist Publishing Co., LaVale MD 21502) includes an article on Vienna's Third Man Museum. Their tours of include not only "Vienna in the steps of the Third Man", the Museum itself (with Karas' zither), but also the "Third Man Sewer Tour". Some of the tours are age restricted (>12y).

Best to make arrangements before you leave. For more information see https/www.drittenmanntour.at/en/index.html or by phone, your overseas log on +43-1-400-3033 (Austrian business hours).

Thank Rudi. That is great information. It's the sewer scene that always comes to mind when I think of the film. I've always been surprised that the powers-that-be in Markneukirchen have never made a tourist shrine out of the house that C.F. Martin grew up in. Here in the States he is the most famous person to come from that notable instrument making town.
