Repair or replace.

Post by BrigitteFendt »

Anyone know of a good repair person? Came to visit my Dad and he said his zither was damaged. Willing to repair if it makes sense. Willing to look for new instrument if unable to repair.

That is some pretty severe damage. You might want to compare the cost of repair to the purchase of a new and more modern instrument. This one is a smaller instrument with only three contra basses and some of those half frets that were popular on many older instruments. Modern zithers are much better built and have a longer string length which gives better tone. I would look into a new or at least newer instrument. Just my 2p.
