FIT BIT?

Post by Rudy Mueller »

Not to repeat myself but since I've added tracking of zither practice time to daily weight measurements and "exercise" time, things seem to be getting a little easier on the strings.

Perhaps the E/A and A/D accompaniment is getting within reach. Even perhaps "an Walzer nur höhr'n" is not impossible für da Oida.

Hi Rudi - how do you use the FitBit? Is it just recording the time you practice? or is there something else that accomplishes the Zither Zauber?

Thanks Tom,

I'm not that sophisticated. A wrist watch, pencil, and paper work just fine.

I really like this idea. May have to start keeping a journal of practice time / pieces.

Thanks for sharing Rudy!

Next week will be the eighth anniversary of the beginning of my (mostly very lonely) zither practice. Keeping track of practice time definitely has been valuable for me, too. Other advice I received along the way, and which I found to be useful:
- make a plan for the more substantial practice sessions beforehand
- alternate between different types of goals
- shorter sessions with higher concentration are better than the opposite ...

Then again, it’s a personal matter. I happen to enjoy practice time regardless of following the advice of others or not :-)
