Rudi. I have not heard you play!
June , I have not heard you play!
Ken, I have not heard you play.
Dave, I have inspirationally heard you play.
Tom, my dear friend who always answers me, I have always had feedback from, I have heard play ( and we are the strugglers!)
Andy, I have heard you play and it is also so inspirational.
The above I feel is pure fact.
That Heidi has a massive over 300 views for a new method of learning, proves that members are reading but none make any comment.
At least I made a comment but the other HUNDREDS didnt bother...this is so annoying.
RUDI, I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT...ZITHER PLAYERS ARE A RECLUSE,...verdammt Stur!!
Spielt diese Sturheit auf allen Zitherspielern?
Anyway......
May I please ask anyone if they can please play one of my favourite and heart felt songs.
Oh My Papa!
It is such a beautiful song and I loved my Pah like you cannot imagine.
Please please play this to me on the Zither?
Please?
Pete

If you go to Youtube and do a search for "Ken Bloom" you will find a video marked Wheatland 1981. I was sitting out on a porch and showing a few people what the zither does. There is a selection of pieces that I played for folks, some blues, a bit of the Clarinet Polka, and some ramblings on Faded Love. Not exactly precision playing but it will give you an idea of what I do.

Hi Pete - I'd be glad to record Oh My Papa for you - but it would be my pitiful zither rendition of a song I remember Eddie Fisher singing back in the 1950s.

Here's an interesting performance - Lys Assia, 1964. I'd never heard the introduction before.

Hi Tom.
Nothing is pittiful mate!
Its the best you can do so there is no better as far as you are concerned.
Listened to the you tube but did nit like the intro bits.
I am going to have a go at doing it slowly to a Waltz rhythmn....why dont they just spell it as spoken ...
RITHEM.
Thats better.
Ken.
Wow. You have gotten your hands around that Zither pretty dammned good mate.
The Carinet Polka was fast.
I wish I could move my fingers as fast.
One day!
I will have to stick to Lullabies and funeral durges just to kick off with.

Goo Morning Pete,

One exercise I used when starting was to write the scores to music I wanted to play. It really helps develop hand-eye coordination. I started with simple home-made staffs in "Word" and eventually got some arrangement software (Forte 8).
