I really would like to know how it sounds.

Re: Tony Godetz - American Grand Harp Zither
Hi Ken, You are right. The piano bottom zithers sound usually quite different than regular built zithers. Their Klang is sharper, harder, shriller, louder and therefore not as melodious as most other zithers. One could say that they are really suited only for a certain kind of music. Still, I'll kee...

Re: Tony Godetz - American Grand Harp Zither
Hi Rudi,
Thank you again for all you information. I hope someday I'll be lucky enough to find a nice Schwarzer piano bottom zither.
Any idea where I could find a copy of the 'Franz Schwarzer, Missouri zither maker'?
Have a good time at your next Zither Sunday.

Re: Tony Godetz - American Grand Harp Zither
Hi Rudi,
Thank you for the information and all the pictures.
Did Schwarzer actually produce some real piano bottom zithers as well?
Regards, Sepp

Re: Tony Godetz - American Grand Harp Zither
Hi Rudy,
How does it sound, your Schwarzer 'Concert Grand'? Is that size of any advantage to the Klang? Louder, bigger, fuller?
Thank you,
Sepp

Re: Adolf Meinel Sr. and A. Moritz Meinel
Adolf Moritz Meinel was a cousin of Ulrike Meinel's grandfather Adolf Friedrich Meinel (1872-1953). From her I know that Adolf Moritz built solid instruments. However, soundwise they didn't set themselves apart from the bulk of zither builders.

Servus and Griaß Eich to both of you, I lived in Westwood/Los Angeles, CA. and Portland, Oregon. I know Andi Waldschütz. He lives not far from me and is my zither doctor. I also know his Schwarzer Perfekta zither. My aim is to find a really nice Schwarzer zither (or zithers), possibly one with a pia...
