Re: Introverts????

Hi Rudi, I had to giggle at your post! Well as you know i am a starter and cannot wait for my zither to arrive. I thank you for your feedback on zither tables. Your particular table is lovely. I have secured a nice hall table here on Australian ebay and will chop and change it to be a dedicated zith...

Re: Zither tables?

Thanks Rudi and Andy. Seems like 27" is not too low then if yours is 25". I assume your knees tuck under the table? I like the resonating chamber. There is a picture on the forum of another table and i lije that one too. It has its own music stand which is also important. I have had a look...

Re: Zither in Question needs Maker ID.

What an absolutely stunning instrument. I cannot help you with makers or further information but this guy meant business when he made it. It is obvious that he wanted to make a beautiful instrument with every adornment possible. He has rounded off the finger board and other parts I notice. He wanted...

Re: Tell me your "my first zither" story!

To tell the truth i am 67 years and should have done this years ago. I will not live long enough to master this beautiful instrument but my plan of attack is to master a few simple tunes and i will be happy. I am a multi instrumentalist anyway and already have a good command of musical jargon. When ...

Re: Im Heimgarten

Coincidence? I received mine from our daughter living near Mainz, who we just visited. Her son spent last September to March in a work/study program in Australia and New Zealand. German high schools tend to recommend some time out before starting the university. All kinds of zither "stuff"...

Re: Im Heimgarten

Rudi, I am brand new to the forum and also to Zithers. I am still waiting for mine to arrive but by using this fabulous forum i have downloaded and printed out a huge Zither Tutor. I have no instructors but like other instruments i play, i learn alone, when stuck i ask someone. The Heimgarten books ...

Re: Tell me your "my first zither" story!

Hello, I am brand new into this forum and this is my first post. I talk too much so be Warned! You wanted a Zither story. When I was a young man serving in Germany at the time, I happened to walk past a little old second hand book shop window and always interested in old stuff I walked in and an old...
