Re: Christmas Music

Hi Andy - There are several "Weihnachten Fantasie". Do you know the composer of the one you're missing?

Re: Christmas Music

Hi Andy - that's a great thing you're doing, and your great-grandfather would be very happy and proud. One tiny suggestion: change the "Mäßtig" to "Mäßig". Mäßig = moderately; in some parts of the German-speaking world, Mäßtig = "overfed". Bravo - and Merry Christmas to...

Re: Stille Nacht, melody line only

Gruss Rudi!

What is the name of the method book which does what you describe? Might be helpful to folks to know what might *not* be advisable.

Thanks.

Hi Luke. Welcome to the Zither forum.

Grüezi Rudi!

Wish Connecticut were a bit closer to Wisconsin.

Say, what can we do to increase participation here on the Forum?

With over 100 members, you'd think there might be a bit more activity - videos of members playing, instruments, music, etc.

Dank.

Re: FIT BIT?

Hi Rudi - how do you use the FitBit? Is it just recording the time you practice? or is there something else that accomplishes the Zither Zauber?

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!

An interesting forum discussion: "How did you get started?"

http://forum.zither.us/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=476

Looks like most folks making progress started with a bit personal instruction, and/or a family member who played zither.

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!

You know, with over 100 members here, you'd think that there would be more than a handful of members willing to help the beginners! I've been suggesting this for years, but there's been no change: When a new topic is started, all the members should get an email notice which includes a link to the ne...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!

Hi Evelyn. Are you saying you were taking lessons which lasted 50 minutes? or that you were practicing alone for 50 minutes? Rita is certainly experiencing problems when she refers to a one hour lesson each day as a beginner. You were indeed lucky to have a teacher! Tom M. ... where did you hear you...

Re: Viele grusse aus Seattle!

Hi Rita - I'm afraid I don't have positive news. If you search for my previous posts and videos, you'll find the story. Lessons are impossible if you don't have a zither player to work with. I did find one zitherist down near NYC, but weekly lessons would be a logistical nightmare. I also found that...
