Re: Saddle

John- If you are located in the US, you might make contact with Mr. Sasha Radicic of St Louis, MO. His is a very fine, and highly trained, maker of guitars and repair of Zithers. Sasha made repairs to two zithers that I own: one is an AltZither in the key of F that has been in my family for generati...

International Zither Event

Has anyone received a formal announcement about/invitation to an International Zither event taking place in Germany in March, 2019? I seem to recall reading a casual mention of this event somewhere on the forum about a month ago.

Re: Franz Schwarzer Zither

As a suggestion, you might contact Sasha Radicic who is an expert luthier for all things Zither and guitar. Sasha lives in St Louis, MO; he did a wonderful job of repair and refinishing a very old alto zither that has been in my family for nearly 100 years, and similarly on a handsome Schwarzer zith...

"Elegie" - an enjoyable Zither piece

Have a listen to this performer, complete with bandaid on his thumb. Isn't this a nifty piece?

Re: Zither lessons via Skype

Hello Carmen, I have been searching for the Zither Sheet music for "Isarwinkler Laendler". Seeing that you are playing German Folkmusic, I would like to know if you can tell me where I can purchase the notes for Zither I/Zither II; or Zither/Accordian/Guitar? Re: Two Zithers for sale

Pete- How much would you want for the three Im Heimat volumes with postage sent to the US? (I would like to get these, and checked the German website, Notenbuch.de for these.....the price per volume there is fair, but their shipping fee from Germany to the US is far more than the books). Let me know...

Re: Hartwig Klapp-Zither

What a clever construction! How easy is it to disengage the two halves held by the magnets?

Wouldn't these be terrific student instruments for school-age kids learning the Zither in a group as kids do with violin, etc.

Thank you for sharing the photo of your new find!

Tom- This is Don down in Wilton. Your video is good, and you may be judging yourself much too harshly. One thing I notice is that you may not have your zither rotated clockwise enough so that your right hand has a more ergonomic position. The zither's right corner should be more in line with the pla...

Re: Are these Zithers any good?

What did you pay for this instrument , I presume you got from eBay? Is the fret board secure and the top secure, and all the pins in place and the mechanic working? Maybe it would be a handsome instrument after a professional refurbishment if you didn't spend too much on it initially. Instrument cer...

Re: Listening recommendations?

Max- I have always enjoyed zither music played by a trio in Germany, Kerschbam Zithermusi, and listen to them on YouTube for inspiration. The major force in that group is a fellow named Andreas Waldschuetz. He's a virtuoso on Zither as well as other instruments. Several members of this forum have ac...
