Zither for Sale
Hi everyone, Available for purchase is a used zither inherited by a couple in Maryland. See photos below. I've had a look at the instrument myself and can note that it is a functional, light-weight instrument on the smaller end of the zither spectrum. The tones are in the sweet/mellow/subdued range,...

Re: Richard Paulus Zither
I think it's a little hard for us today to picture how popular the zither was in teh latter part of the 19th century. I agree. We live in a zither desert by comparison! Zither makers are so few that just about any that actively produces is well-known to all. This particular zither was fun to resear...

I'd never heard of him before...

Re: Scherz zither?
Hmm... maybe if the translation is taken literally it is a fake zither or otherwise a "joke" zither? That would be interesting to find out. Where did you hear of it?

Re: Exploded view of the zither
I don't suppose I have a whole lot of advice to offer on this thread - quite frankly, the thought of taking a zither apart at the seams and messing with it scares me :? - but a few thoughts come to mind... The L profile sounds interesting. I've never seen a zither with one before, but if there is on...

Re: The Dancing figurine, video 29 seconds
Many thanks for posting the article link! I regret that I don't understand Slovenian but the pictures themselves spoke volumes. I enjoyed studying them and seeing the variety of characters. These delightful little figurines are truly remarkable. You are lucky to have found one. Regards from Maryland...
