I recently saw a zither on Ebay.com. The label listed the name of Lambert Becker. Unfortunately I wasn't able to save and post the photo.
But this was the only example of a zither builder in San Francisco. Perhaps somebody out there can shed some light on the history of this maker.

My Music Scores in Munich Double-Treble Clef
I want your feedback for this idea: I can convert the Bass Clef lines in my original zither solo compositions, to the Treble Clef for those of you who prefer the double Treble Clef in stead of Treble-and-Bass clefs. In my website, Citharaamericanum.com, I have only featured my original pieces with a...

A New Zither Music Website from John Roeder
Hello Everyone: I have a new Website, http://www.citharaamericanum.com , which features my two zither solo CDs and two volumes of sheet music scores of my own solo zither compositions. I recently published Volume 2 of my original compositions that include three pages of score samples of each of the ...

Need Points of Contact
Hello Everyone,
Can anyone please give me the point of contact for the following organizations?
1. The Tokyo Zither Club (Do they still exist?)
2. The Deutsche Zither Bund- Do they have an English-speaking point of contact?
Thanks.

Possible String Replacements With Classical Guitar Strings.
I replaced a Begleit f-3 string with a nylon guitar e-1 string, with good results . Once it tuned, I marked it with a, red, indelible ink felt tip, except in the place where my finger touches it. I recommend a good brand such as D'Addario, set,Model # EJ46C "Pro Arte Composites," which is ...

Re: old, old zither
Hi Rudy: One of the zithers that I built, in 2011, includes the Begleit a-flat string. That gives me a full, high, a-flat chord as well as a full f-minor chord in the begleit section. I just use an a-flat string designed for Vienna Tuning, even though the rest of the zither is in Munich Tuning. I no...

Re: Franz Schwarzer Elegy Zither - Model 86
Hi: My old Elegie Zither is almost identical to your model in the photo. Sadly, it has no label or model number stamped on the left end of the fretboard (Griffbret) by the bridge and fret #1. The border inlay or edge binding is similar with its alternating light-dark hatched pattern. The tuning mach...

Tony Godetz Scores / Franz Schwarzer's Scores
I am looking for any of the zither compositions that were written by Tony Godetz. Does anybody have a score that they can copy and send me?
I am also looking for any of Franz Schwarzer's scores, Other Than the Josephinen Laendler, which I already have.

Sound Quality of a Meinel or a Horst Wuensche model
For those of you who own an older Adolf Meinel zither, does that model have a markedly different tone or sound personality as opposed to other zither makes? Does your Horst Wuensche zither sound any different than the other models? Do the fretted or Griffbrett strings sound any louder, or warmer in ...
