Re: Denver

I'm liking this music score.org free download, Joseph. It makes transcribing music so much clearer and easier- once you get the hang of it; thanks!
For those of you who have hand-written sheet music and want to make it more legible/ or for composing your own music to zither- this is a great tool.

Re: Denver

Sorry, no; but I'd really like to try "As Time Goes By" if anyone has music for that.

and my Schwartzer Perfecta has a piano bottom as well.

Those are really impressive zithers you've created John. What a wonderful talent to have.

International Zither Gathering in Königswinter

For those who haven't already heard: Dear Zither Friends, December 8, 2018 We are excited to announce the 2019 International Zither Gathering (IZG) to be held in Königswinter, Germany (near Bonn, the former capital of Germany). Re: Oh, was that bad!

On Anne's suggestion from Tomy I bought an AKG mike C411 from Amazon. I found it works best instead of sticking it on the zither, to have it stick on the table near the instrument. It's attached to a phantom that descrambles it and that attaches to a Cube amp. The Cube and phantom have the option of...

Tuning; arrrgh.

If I have not asked before: why is it- unlike with other stringed instruments- that we tune the Griffbrett on the 7th string instead of the open strings. And why do the strings get flatter/sharper further up the frets; some of my instruments more so than others. Is there some physics involved with t...

Re: Looking for Help in Finding a Zither

Why not save the expense of restringing and repairs on an Ebay zither- which has the risk of arriving warped or cracked, and buy a small new zither from Wunsche. They make very nice instruments. When I was there, Stefan Meinel (again, why is everyone in Markneukirhen named Meinel?) showed me a very ...
